Kevin Conroy volunteered to help in the wake of the 9/11 terrorist attack, and as there were enough first respondents and other volunteers, but they were exhausted and hungry, Kevin Conroy, after confirming he had cooking and restaurant experience, was assigned to this role.

Here is a video were he recounted a heartwarming story, were he was recognized as the voice of Batman, and helped to raise everyone's spirits.

Rest in peace, Dark Knight.

Spongebob Anime

I know I'm pretty late to the party, but I still recommend to watch it, for those who didn't know of Narmak's project :)

It's a bummer Kubo only included hints of it in the manga, and only expanded on it in the Bleach sequel novel (Can't Fear Your Own World III), but I guess it was connected to his health issues.

...and Lugia

This is all quite interesting, if at times rather unexpected. I did include a second link, as the first page doesn't specify Pikachu was to be an unwilling leader of the Pokemon rebellion, and Meowth actually being able to negotiate peace between Pokemon and humanity.

It's also interesting Lugia (aside from the fact Takeshi Shudo created him, but I heard that already 10 years ago) was originally intended to be the creator of all life on Earth, and that Takeshi Shudo intended him to be female, and as compromise latter saw him as both male and female (something essentially retained for most Legendary Pokemon, as most are neither given the male or female sex), with some even echo of Lugia's "Creator" role in the Diamond, Pearl and Platinum Pokedex entries for Lugia (repeated latter in White and Black 1 and2, X and Y), were he (or maybe rather her, or them?) was the one implied to cause (unintentionally) the Great Flood by just use of a bit of his great power - "It sleeps in a deep-sea trench. If it flaps its wings, it is said to cause a 40-day storm."

It also shows a real life tragic element, that Takeshi Shudo overused (prescription) drugs and alcohol to deal with stress during the production, which almost certainly ultimately contributed to his death, as described in the article.
